As you can tell from the bar graphs below, the Sophomores really learned a lot during the first few weeks of the quarter. However, when these students were freshmen, they also showed very little growth during the theme unit. Throughout English 9 and 10, our class will review how to evaluate themes in short stories, novels, dramas, and poems. I expect that most of the Freshmen will be at least at grade level by this time next year.
In order to help the students who earned below and far below grade level scores on this test, theme intervention packets will be distributed for individual review and practice.
